Line ski reviews 2011
This growing company manages to maintain "cult" status as it becomes increasingly mainstream, a difficult and, so far, successful marketing balancing act. New are the EP Shortly, a modified Blend, park-oriented Stepup and Afterbang Shortly. For big mountain freeride, Line adds the Prophet 115 and woman's Celebrity 100.

Prophet 90
For the all mountain skier seeking a solid crossover biased toward general off-piste skiing, the Prophet is all that the old Chronic was not. Versatility is greater, especially in-bounds. Good carver, stable, quick for a ski this wide and not as demanding of energetic input as one would expect.
Our male test skiers found it a to have wider suitability envelope in terms of skill than did their female counterparts the Celebrity.
Celebrity 90
Female equivalent to the Prophet 90. Beefed up construction, still versatile and smooth.
Remains a good 1-ski-quiver for strong female skiers who spend time both on and off piste.
Prophet 115
115's are becoming ever more popular and our skiers found this a solid choice.
"Overall great ski for off piste. Construction of the Mothership but easier flex and shape. A lot of skiers will like this ski."
"Crud-busting rocker machine. Better eat your Wheaties; at 186 be ready or it will kick your but. At 179, great versatility."
"Powered through firm snow. Doesn't like short radius turns, but solid in medium to long turns. Loved how it cruised through tracked snow."
Celebrity 100
"This is a lot of ski! Skied steep cut up great, but hard to handle on groomers. It felt heavy at 165."
"Really smooth in crud."
Prophet 100
The 100 is more versatile than the Mothership, except perhaps in terms of "cool factor," and is probably the best choice among Line's 100+ ultra-wides than the MS for most skiers.
Like the 90, this even beefier big mountain/all mountain board is surprising nimble for this kind of ski. Still demands energy and skill, but a better back country roamer for those not shooting chutes and landing fakey off big rocks.
A better ski for mere mortals . . .
Blend
Appropriate name for the ski our testers discoverd; it does a lot of things well.
"The slight rocker made this good in powder and reasonable in bumps. Did not have to work hard at all."
"Took it into the park and the ski came alive; did not notice the rocker when landing jumps."
"Solid ski, good skiing backwards."
